Hi Loves!
Hope you have all been doing amazing. I am back with yet another post – and this time its about an exclusive college makeover I participated in with Simon Malls.

As a college student, you can probably relate and understand, that I am often overwhelmed with life. Running my own business, working a job, handling extracurriculars,  trying to have a social life, and attempting to make a career….the responsibilities are truly endless.

I never had the opportunity to focus on the interior design of my room. I am always running around like a headless dog but I have always yearned to create a creative space for myself.

Simon Malls gave me the opportunity to visit the The Shops at Montebello and redecorate my entire room. I decided to go with a cozy and comfortable theme so I could make my room more homey. I knew I was dealing with a limited space so I wanted to go with small details that would make a big impact.

I found the perfect embroidered throw by Martha Stewart.    You can also get the matching shams here.

I loved the design of this throw because it was so light and airy. It was a cream color but had hints of red. A little bit color puts me in a better mood and would motivate me to get work done in my room. To me, neutrals are dull and boring so I wanted to add some pizzazz to my room.  PS. This amazing throw is on sale so make sure to buy it before they sell out! ;)

Luckily, I found the cutest cactus plant at a vendor in the mall. I had to get it, because it was a great addition to my limited space.

I also stumbled upon some deep red cushions that would add a flare to my room and a pop of color.

I placed some items in the shelve that complement my personality oh so well. For example, I added a vintage timer which reminds me that time is always ticking and I need to use it wisely. I also added a box that has a design of the maps all over it. This is to cure my wanderlust.

I also found an adorable lamp at Jc Penneys that was the perfect addition to my desk.

I also decided to refresh my bed with some white sheets that were too sophisticated to not have.

This project for me was so much more than a room makeover. It taught me how to be organized, use space wisely, and how to get motivated. Everyday I look forward to working in my room and keeping it clean, because it looks so polished now.

This room makeover actually puts me in a better mood and makes me more positive about life. It was definitely a rejuvenating project and I may have also learned a thing or two about interior design even though I am not close to being an expert.

Thanks so much for reading. I hope this inspires you to redesign your room and bring some positive energy into it! What would you do if you had the chance to do a room makeover ? What is your favorite part about your room currently? Do you think your room is your haven? I would love to hear from you below.
