Hey loves!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. I am finally writing a blog post on NYFW. NYFW is the most anticipated event in a blogger’s life. I was so excited to attend my first NYFW this fall and let me tell you, it sure did live up to the hype.
Each day we would wake up at the crack of dawn and stay out till 10 pm, running from various events, shows, showrooms, and meetings. I wish I could do it all over again and thats why I’ll be attending NYFW Spring season as well.
Some of my favorite shows this season would have to be: Marissa Webb, O’2nd, Leanne Marshall, and Son Jung Wan though I sincerely enjoyed each show I went to.
This was my first NYFW so I was still trying to get a handle over everything and let me just say it was quite overwhelming. There is so much networking, content, inspiration, and amazing vibes that you see around you. You don’t want to miss any opportunity and thats why I ran from one place to another. It felt more like a work trip then a vacation but it sure was incredible. Every second of it was priceless to me.
In this post, I’ll be doing a small journal of my NYFW and sharing some of the highlights.
NYFW Night 1:
We arrived during the day (11 AM) and we were so exhausted that we even forgot the day / time. We took it easy that day and decided to explore a bit of NYC’s best spots.
We did manage to make it to the Sachin and Babi NYFW Party at The Dream Hotel. It was a night filled with fun and meeting some familiar faces.
I was delighted to make it to the event since I had missed the Sachin and Babi show that morning. It was wonderful to finally meet the designer (Sachin) since I had worked with the brand this past year. We took a few snaps and I’ve attached them below!
I wore a Shop Tobi dress. It was a strapless baby blue dress. I paired it with tights because of the crazy NYC weather and I draped / wore my TopShop Coat.
I also wore my Coordinates Collection necklace which is so adorable. It was customized for me, and had my exact coordinates on it, and my birthplace of San Francisco on the other side. This has easily become one of my favorite pieces.
NYFW Day 1:
One of the highlights of the first day of NYFW was attending the Marissa Webb Show. This show was beyond amazing. It was the perfect juxtaposition between neutrals and more bright spring colors. It looked like the ideal balance for a new wardrobe. I also bumped into Aimee Song from Song of Style, Andy Torres from Style Scrapbook, Wendy from Wendy’s Lookbook, and Louise Roe from the Front Roe at the show. You could say it was an awesome experience for my first NYFW show since I met all my favorite idols in one place!! <3
PS. I wore a Topshop Coat and Topshop Jumpsuit. I also accessorized with my Christian Louboutin Heels and Chanel Bag. I had my makeup done at Mac Cosmetics in Times Square because I wanted to go for a total glam look. The day before heading to NYC I had my hair done, and I went with a dark brown base and purple ends. I thought it was time for a refreshing new look. Do you like it?! Whats your say? ;)
NYFW Day 2:
We started the day with being treated to some of the most amazing food. Chef Chloe herself invited us to By Chloe, her new vegan restaurant. I must recommend this place to anyone who is in NYC because its truly mouthwatering. You won’t even be able to tell that you’re eating vegan food. I have met Chloe a few times, and she is an incredible person and her restaurant truly did not disappoint. We had burgers, avocado pasta, chilli cheese fries, juices, coffee, and amazing desserts. Thank you to the By Chloe team for their awesome hospitality!
NYFW Day 3
Rise and shine!!!
We attended the Leanne Marshall Show which was absolutely wonderful. Her designs were so unique and majestic. I loved the collection of these gorgeous gowns. My favorite one had to be the grey dress with ruffles. Its so dreamy and beautiful!!
I wore a warm vest that I borrowed from my friend and a Reformation black top underneath. I wore pants from Ply Apparel that they custom made for me. I also wore some chic over the knee boots in dark brown that I found while vintage shopping. I accessorized with adorable sunnies from Quay Australia.
NYFW DAY 4:
So in between shows , meetings, and some shoots, I had time to check out some cool places in NYC. As you all might know, I’m a huge foodie. I had the opportunity to check out Chelsea Market . It was like a dream land. Chelsea Market is made up of some cute boutique shops , food markets, and unique cafes. You could easily spend all day there, and explore everything they have to offer. We got a quick meal and did some shopping. We also snapped some pictures which was one of the MOST CHALLENGING experiences in my life.
It was literally subzero when we took the photos below. I almost thought I was going to faint, and my feet were so numb. I couldn’t feel my hands anymore and my face was peeling.
I did my best to cover this look but it was too challenging and after staying out for 5 minutes, I had to rush inside to get some warmth.
The weather in NYC was below freezing. I totally salute all the east coast fashionistas because its not an easy feat layering up and looking so chic.
I tried to get smart with layering up but to be honest I was still so cold. I wore my Burberry Trench Coat which was absolutely comfortable and chic. I recommend that you invest in a piece like this if you live in a place with cold winters. It truly protects you from the cold and looks so classy.
I also wore a Burberry scarf, which is another favorite of mine. Its so warm and cozy, and definitely a signature piece .
Underneath, I am wearing a poncho from Ramy Brook, (and under that I had a few layers too! ) ;)
I am wearing a cute suede skirt from Ramy Brook as well.
I decided to wear these thick tights in an attempt to protect myself from freezing temperatures.
Lastly, I’m wearing these absolutely fabulous shoes from Femmes Sans Peur.
ANDDDD THATS A WRAP, LOVELIES!
I’ll be sharing more NYFW as time goes by but these are definitely the highlights. I hope you enjoyed my little NYFW diary as much as I did creating it for you all. Feel free to ask me questions on this post or via instagram DMS. I wanna know what your favorite show was or what inspired you or whether you’ll consider going to NYFW if you get the opportunity!?!?
XOXOXO,
Alisha
