If you’re like me and struggle to stay hydrated, this post is meant for you. I know how busy we get in our daily lives and sometimes we just forget to chug down that water. Since its summer and temperatures have been rising to record high numbers (especially in Los Angeles) , I wanted to share some tips on how you can enjoy staying hydrated!

But first, lets do a quick recap of why its so essential to stay hydrated.

Drinking water helps our body flush out toxins, improve our mood, relieve fatigue, treat headaches, help with weight loss, and even get rid of constipation, to name a few key reasons.

Here are some of my favorite tips on how to stay hydrated this summer:

  1.  Make Fruit Infused Waters. I recently did a quick and fun snapchat tutorial on fruit infused waters.  Don’t worry if you missed it, I’ll do more soon. Add me on snapchat: @bruinlovexo! In the mean time, I love this this site  because it offers some great recipes on how to make your own fruit infused waters! These look so pretty and tempt me to up my intake of water.
  2. Download an app (Waterlogged  for iphone or Water your Body for android).  I think its awesome to depend on technology to create a new vital habit. If you’re always on your phone, you have no excuse to not download this app and track your daily water intake.
  3. Add ice to your water.  Research shows that cold water is great for weight loss so why not sip on your cool drink and stay in shape too?
  4. Try flavored or sparkling waters (once in awhile).  Just to make things more interesting, why not try coconut or almond water? It might be fun to try some different types of waters but don’t go overboard, because plain water is the best for you.
  5. Next time you crave a snack or coffee, force yourself to down 2 glasses of water. Good habits like this can help you reach your daily water intake goals.
  6. Kick start your metabolism by having lemon water in the morning. My mom always advises me to start the morning with a glass of hot lemon water to get me going. This tip helps to energize me and even hydrate me at the same time.
  7. Make homemade ice cubes out of your favorite fruit!  Freeze up some berries or lemon slices to spice up your daily water intake. Its going to look gorgeous for the instagram shot and its so good for you too. ;)
  8. Add some fresh herbs to your water.  Try adding some mint for a more refreshing taste.
  9. Invest in a great reusable  water bottle. One of my favorites are from Klean Kanteen (not sponsored) , just love their design and concept!
  10. The easiest thing you can do is carry a water bottle with you at all times. This will then become second nature and you don’t even have to remember to sip the water through out the day.
